Assassin's Creed Unveils Unexpected AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a surprising partnership that breaks traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Disclosed
According to the authorized release, "An unusual encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original quest, where rumors of forbidden practices and fearsome changes resonate through the shadows." The narrative features a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden cult.
The adventure centers on "strange experiments and a terrifying enemy" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Metamorphoses
The teaser highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The trailer ends with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the captive, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Exclusive Rewards and Extra Material
Players who finish the mission will acquire an unique katana in addition to several items secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive arms
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Content
This update also introduces the game's third complimentary story content, titled "The Mystery." This playful mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic techniques: Naoe reveals a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This marks not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with popular anime properties. The series formerly showcased a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla unofficially contained a quest that clearly echoed the popular series One-Punch Man.
