Uche Sparks Comfortable Palace Win at Irish Side Shelbourne.

Despite entering their maiden European adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are learning at a rapid pace. Missing star figures like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a commanding result that virtually guarantees them a spot in the Conference League qualifying rounds.

A further three points in their next match against Finnish KuPS should be sufficient to seal straight entry to the last 16, especially following a previous stumble against Strasbourg.

Fringe Players Grasp the Opportunity

This match offered a platform for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to shine. Christantus Uche, in only his second beginning since arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a well-taken finish. Striker Eddie Nketiah contributed a second, finding the net for the second game in match.

The match was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino weaved past some comically weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.

After the break, coach Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to withdraw key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Replacement Romain Esse came close to scoring with his first touch, but saw his shot blocked.

Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one shot crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also blazed a sitter of a chance, showing there is still scope for development in his game.

A solitary worry for Palace was a second-half injury to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his first-team debut, rounding off an otherwise perfect evening for the traveling side.
